With this announcement, IN8 HOME will advance to the global stage of the awards, which will take place in March 2025 in Chicago (USA), organized by the US entity International Housewares Association (IHA), creator of the award.

Learn about the GIA Award

The GIA (Global Innovation Awards) is a global award that recognizes the best physical concept stores for home goods, decoration, and housewares worldwide. Created in 2000 by the International Housewares Association (IHA), an organization based in Chicago, USA, the award annually honors the retail sector of home goods, decoration, and housewares in 30 countries. The award is organized in two stages: national and international.

Since 2018, ABCasa has been the official representative of the Brazilian stage, which takes place as follows: through a free competition aimed at the retail sector, physical stores register, are evaluated by a jury, and compete for the title of best concept store of the current year.

In the 2025 edition, participating stores will be evaluated by industry professionals and experts in various categories, such as: retail, store design and layout, visual merchandising, POS (point of sale), marketing, and customer service.

The top 5 finalist brands from the Brazilian stage will participate in a gala dinner where the grand winner will be announced and will compete with stores from all over the world in 2025 in Chicago, with a paid trip for 1 representative.

The award's main objective is to stimulate the sector's evolution by analyzing specific characteristics and focusing primarily on innovation.

Jurors 2025

Cintia Lie

Strategic and creative retail consultant with a focus on visual merchandising and space design. She is an academic coordinator at IED and a postgraduate professor in fashion and retail at ESPM, FAAP, IED, and FIA Business. Her expertise ranges from lectures and training for internal teams to the development of brand concepts applied to store projects.

Juliemy Machado

Passionate about design and experience, she specialized in Visual Merchandising. Twelve years ago, she founded VMSP Retail Studio, where she works as creative director. A multidisciplinary creative director, she is responsible for concept creation, architecture, VM, and campaigns for major brands such as Laces and Hair, Casa Francis, Julio Okubo, Loungerie, MCD, among others.

Luciana Locchi

Business consultant specializing in retail design and visual merchandising. With extensive experience in her field, she works with renowned brands to develop retail design strategies and create engaging shopping experiences for customers.

Renato Diniz

Creative director at Estúdio Jacarandá, where he works on developing retail space concepts. He is VP of store design at POPAI Brasil.
With a background in product design and specialization in branding and visual merchandising, she believes in the power of enchantment and engagement that strategically thought-out and designed environments can generate.

Renato Fregnani

Architect and retail design specialist, founder of FREG – Creative Architecture and Design Studio. With a consolidated career in the sector, he has developed innovative projects for major brands and leads strategic initiatives that connect design, branding, and consumer experience. Currently, Renato is president of the Retail Design Institute Brazil and curator of industry events and awards.

Top Window

The Gia Award includes a specific category to recognize the best physical storefront displays for home decor and housewares stores.

Through popular vote, the 3 best shop windows in Brazil are selected to represent the nation in the Top Window Awards final, which takes place in the USA.

The three selected entries will compete against storefronts from around the world, with the winner being announced online. The winning storefront from the global stage will win a trip to the following year's The Inspired Home Show.

The finalist brands from the Brazilian Stage will participate in the GIA Award dinner in São Paulo.
